Ultrahaptics

Born out of education in 2013, Ultrahaptics is working to create the most remarkable connection between people and technology. By using ultrasound to project sensations onto a hand, Ultrahaptics is pushing through an era of change and allowing people to feel and control technology like never before.

From invisible buttons and dials that you feel when you need them, through to tangible interfaces that track your hand, this elegant and simple technology was created using complex mathematics yet is based on human nature.

The above doesn’t just describe who Ultrahaptics is—it’s a glimpse into the work we did in the Labs team at Hotwire to help give Ultrahaptics purpose. Gifted with revolutionary technology, their first three years were focused on getting a product to market. With that milestone on the horizon, they needed a north star to guide their journey in reshaping the tech industry.

We helped them identify the attributes that set them apart and turned those into a narrative that resonated with consumers, clients, and industry press. Alongside acting as design consultants for their internal rebranding team, we developed messaging and brand guidelines to ensure Ultrahaptics could present themselves professionally and consistently as they moved into a very promising future.

Ultrahaptics reached that milestone at CES 2017, launching their haptic feedback Evaluation Kit alongside an in-car entertainment demo with Bosch.

Ultrahaptics later rename as Ultraleap but retained the original visual identity delivered by Hotwire Global around 2015.
